Andres Bonifacio and Book Week Celebration.
To further inculcate the value of books to our
school children and be familiar with Andres Bonifacio, a program was held on November 29, 2013 at 3:30 in the afternoon.
The program started with a prayer led by Ms. Grace B. Almario followed by
the singing of the National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Connie Andrade. Mrs. Zenaida
C. San Pedro, Principal II talked about the importance of books and had her questions to be answered by the pupils about Andres Bonofacio. Then every
grade level showed their talent in accordance to the theme which is about the
importance of books and something about Andres Bonifacio. Grade I pupils showed
their talent in folk dancing. Grade II pupils had choral
recitation on the poem written by Andres Bonifacio entitled “Pag – ibig sa
Tinubuang Lupa”. Grade III pupils had their acronyms about books. Whereas the two Grade IV pupils and two Grade VI pupils sing nationalistic songs, Ibon Mang May Layang Lumipad at Ako ay Filipino respectively. And interpretative dance was showed by the Grade
V pupils. Awarding of Huwarang Bata for the months of October
and November concluded the program.
In Preparation for the Treats or Tricks and Halloween Program to be hosted by the city government on October 30 in the afternoon. Tortugas Elementary School held halloween celebration on October 29, 2013.
The film showing of suspense movies commenced the activity. A foot parade along the main streets of Brgy Tortugas and a short program followed.
A prayer was lead by Ms. Mary Grace C. dela Cruz while the singing of the National Anthem was conducted by Mrs. Neriza P. Cabreta. Mrs. Zenaida C. San Pedro, Principal II introduced the deeper importance of the All Saints' and Souls Day to the pupils. She also informed them of how and why we celebrate the halloween. After her message winners in best in costume and most scary face was announced.
Family Day Celebration. Tortugas Elementary School organized
Family Day last September 25, 2013 at 1:00pm to celebrate the importance of
families in our community. This event aims to build lines of communication
between our pupils and their family and let them enjoy the moment as a family.
With this event our pupils and their family have an opportunity to have bonding
moment as a family because we believe that having time to each will have a
great help to a child to improve their progress in school.

Hon.Rogelio De Guzman, Brgy. Commitee on Education on his inspiring message to
each of us. Pupils in different grade levels excited to witness the dance
presentations. The presentation of primary grade pupils truly gave thrills to the
audience. Selected pupils in intermediate class had their dance number followed
by the most awaited presentation of Grade IV – VI class. Teachers also had
their dance presentation to the tune of Vice Ganda dance craze, OoooopsKiri..
enjoyment of the families will not be complete without parlor games. Of course,
pupils and their families participated in different games prepared by teachers.
And the winning team also received prizes. After the games, we proceed to the
distribution of awards to the winner in mass demo both primary and intermediate
class. The Grade III-B pupils won in primary grade while the grade VI pupils
won in intermediate. Huwarang Mag-aaral for the month of September also awarded
to the pupils who showed good behaviour in class.

ipinagdiwang ang buwan ng Agosto sa Mababang paaralan ng Tortugas. Ito ay
pagbibigay pugay kay Manuel L. Quezon na siyang tinaguriang Ama ng Wikang
Kaya naman noong ika-30 ng Agosto ay
nagkaroon ng programa ukol sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan Wika na may Paksang: “Wika Natin ang Daang Matuwid” Ang programa
ay sinimulan sa isang mataimtim na panalangin na pinangunahan ni Bb. Mary Grace
Dela Cruz, guro sa baitang II na sinundan naman ng pag-awit ng pambansang awit na
kinumpasan ni Gng. Connie M. Andrade. Hindi naman makukumpleto ang programa kung wala ang pagbati ng maganda at mabait na punong-guro ng mababang
paaralan na si Gng. Zenaida C. San Pedro, para sa lahat. Bago umpisahan ang tagisan sa maramihang
pagtula ay nagkaroon muna ng pamukaw siglang bilang ang kinder na may
pinamagatang “Pag-ibig sa Sariling Wika” sa pamumuno ni Gng. Allen P. Macalinao.
Matapos nito, pinasimulan na ang tagisan ng pagtula ng Primary at Intermediate,
ang Primary sa temang “Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Filipino at sa Intermediate
para sa temang “Ako’y Wika”. Sa kanilang pagtula masasabing ang bawat baitang
ay nagsipaghanda upang maipakita sa lahat ang kanilang galing at husay sa
larangan ng pagtula. Sa primary ang nahirang na nagwagi ay mula sa baitang III-A,
samantala sa Intermediate naman ay nagwagi ang baitang V. Binigyang parangal din sa araw na ito ang mga
nagwagi sa ginanap na poster making contest, slogan making contest, essay
writing contest at quiz bee noong ika-15 ng Agosto para sa poster making
contest sa primary na si Yssabelle Mari Fabian mula sa III-A. Sumunod ang
Slogan Making Contest sa primary na si Elgie Timbang at si Ysabela C. Maglaque
para sa Quiz bee buhat pa rin sa III-A at sa Intermediate naman nakamit ito ni
Charvin Ashley Ragenil at si Camille Beltran para sa Quiz Bee mula naman sa
baitang IV. Nahirang naman para sa essay writing ang likha ni Therese Audrey
Nulod ng ikalimang baitang. Kasunod din nito ay ang pagbibigay parangal din sa
mga nahirang na Huwarang Mag-aaral.
Masasabing naging makabuluhan ang
pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sapagkat naipakita ng bawat isa ang kanilang
galing at husay sa larangan ng pagtula at mananatilli sa kanilang puso’t isipan

The Nutri - Quiz Bee and Essay Writing
Contest were participated by the Intermediate pupils. Three contestants each
from grades four to six competed with one another. Mrs. Jennifer N. Pajares,
Mrs. Novalyn Cauilan, Filipino Coordinator and Ms. Mary Grace C. dela Cruz,
Grade II Teacher, facilitated the activity. The Essay Writing was done on the
29th of July in the morning while the Nutri – Quiz Bee was done on
the same date.

competition bought and brought their own ingredients, recipes, stove, cooking

this program were the severely wasted pupils as reflected in the nutritional
status of the pupils when they were weighed last month by the City Division
Nurses. This program will be done thrice a week until March wherein they will
be weighed again by the City Division Nurses to assess the success of the

Tortugas Elementary School Holds Commencement Exercises.
March 15 marked
the commencement exercises of grade six pupils in Tortugas Elementary School
(TES) at ten o’ clock in the morning in TES Covered Court.
Noel Valdecañas, Mrs. Teresita Nisay, Dr. Merlinda Tablan and Brgy. Chair
Victor Baluyot, Jr. graced the ceremony.
The ceremony started with a
processional of the graduating class, led by Nikki Hershey R. Dionisio, first honors,
Jenny M. Ladera, second honors, John Marc S. Gatdula, first honourable mention,
Shermae S. Magrata, second honourable mention and Glynndy C. de Leon, third honourable
mention with their parents, guests, teachers, awardees from Kindergarten to
grade five and the part three performers.
Selected pupils from
grades four to five solemnly carried out the doxology. It was followed by the
singing of the National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Connie M. Andrade, grade four
teacher. Region III Hymn and Dugong Balangueno were sung by the graduates as
they proudly do the action of the songs.
Jenny M. Ladera, this year’s
second honors gave her welcome address. Mrs. Zenaida C. San
Pedro, Principal II presented the graduating class composed
of twenty males and twenty – four females to Dr. Merlinda T. Tablan and then
she recommended them to Mrs. Teresita Q. Nisay for confirmation.
The graduates together with their
parents were appreciated with certificate as proof of their hard work. To share
in the joy of the graduates, Mrs. Teresita Q. Nisay and Vice Mayor Noel Valdecañas in their
respective messages encouraged the graduates to pursue their education until
they reach their ambition.
Awarding of academics and non
academic distinction followed. Meanwhile, Gawad Talinong Balangueno,
Congressional Medal for Academic Excellence, Gawad Gobernador and Bataan
Christian School Scholarship Awards were given to the first and second honors
of the graduating class. Teacher – coaches who won in the district and in the
division competition were also
given recognition. Dakilang Guro awardees were Mrs. Connie M. Andrade,
grade four teacher and Mrs. Anna May D. Macalinao, grade one teacher.
A valedictory address by Nikki
Hershey R. Dionisio became very emotional. She thanked her parents, teachers
and challenged her fellow graduates to dream and do their best to achieve
Mrs. Zenaida C. San Pedro informed the
stakeholders about the accomplishments, achievements and the new projects of
the school. Subsequent to the state of the school address of Mrs. San Pedro,
John Marc Gatdula, first honorable mention, led the graduates in reciting Pangako
ng Katapatan. Then the graduates sang
their graduation songs as they offer flower to their parents and kiss
them to show their gratitude to them.
Coronation of the King and Queen of Hearts Held in TES.
In line with the celebration of Valentine’s Day,
Tortugas Elementary School held a search for King and Queen of Hearts 2013 on
February 27. The search involves all interested students from kinder to grade
VI. The said search is a form of fund raising activity for the benefit of the
school and the students. The canvassing wa s held a week before the coronation, February
started with a joyous parade of 30 candidates in their beautiful costumes.
After the parade, the program proper started with the usual prayers led by Mrs.
Allen Jane P. Macalinao, national anthem and Region III hymn conducted by Mrs.
Connie Andrade and the inspirational message coming from, Ms. Zenaida C. San
Pedro, Principal II. Ms. Rofelia D. Buenaventura introduced the judges namely Mrs.

TES Supports Early Registration Day
and Tax Campaign.

In support of
this programs by the department, Tortugas Elementary School informed the
community through tarpaulin, an announcement posted to the different
conspicuous places of the school and through a foot parade.
The foot parade
was held on January 11, Friday along the main streets of Tortugas community. During
the parade, the pupils displayed the slogan that they made about the early
registration and tax campaign. After the foot parade, a short program commenced
in the covered court of Tortugas Elementary School. The main objective of the
program is to further inform and explain the importance of early registration and
paying of the correct taxes to the community.

explaining the age qualifications for the incoming Kindergarten and Grade 1
pupils and the documentary requirements that they need to bring with them on
January 26, Saturday as they register their children. According to her, all
children who are born on October 31, 2008 or earlier shall be eligible for
early enrolment in Kindergarten. She further stressed that those who are born
on October 31, 2007 or earlier with or without Kindergarten experience, shall
be eligible for early enrolment in Grade I. Moreover, she said that they have
to bring the birth certificate of the child or if not available during the
Early Registration Day, this document can be submitted earlier in June or
within the school year. Equally important was her message about the necessity
of the community to pay their taxes honestly.
The pupils in
every grade level made their part in the information campaign by the different
presentations that they made. Kindergarten pupils recited a poem about early
registration. Grade 1 and Grade IV pupils had role playing showcasing the
importance of the Early Registration Day. Grade II and Grade III pupils had
their tax campaign jingle while Grade V and VI pupils created dance steps to
show the different slogans that they made about tax campaign and early
registration. A community singing concluded the program.
